Our Staff at Midwest Embryo includes:

Ashley Swenson, DVM
Dr. Ashley Swenson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota and her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She brings with her multiple embryo transfer and IVF experiences through her summer internship at Trans Ova Genetics in Sioux Center, IA, as well as externships at Sunshine Genetics in White Water, WI, and Herd Health Veterinary Services in Caldwell, ID.

Ashley is the sixth generation on her family’s dairy farm in Nicollet, MN, and brings with her a lifetime of experience in the dairy industry in Minnesota. She has gained significant knowledge through her work in the operation and management of her family’s 250 cow dairy.

Ashley is active an active member of the American Embryo Transfer Association. Other memberships include IETS, AABP, AVMA and the Minnesota VMA.


David Duxbury, DVM

David holds a B.A. degree from Harvard University and B.S. and D.V.M. degrees from the University of Minnesota.  He has been practicing veterinary reproductive medicine since 1980 and is responsible for creating METS in 1989. David is active in the embryo transfer field and is past-president of the American Embryo Transfer Association. Other memberships include IETS, AVMA and the Wisconsin VMA.


Nancy Vitalis
Nancy has been with METS since its inception in 1989. She is a certified veterinary technician with an Associate Degree from the University of Minnesota. Nancy is the office manager and does much of the lab work while helping with donor collections. Her many skills include the management of international embryo shipments.
